Scottish Swimmers Celebrate Success in Italy

Earlier this year, four Scottish Down’s Syndrome swimmers went to Padova, Italy to compete at the Down Syndrome European Championships (31st August to 10th September).

The swimmers were Laura Logan, Beth Greig, Mathew McCreidie, Cerys McCrindel, they all swam fantastically. Laura achieved a Bronze medal in 200 Fly.  Cerys won 2 gold medals in relay 4 x 200 free and 4 x 100 free setting 2 new World Records in these events, she also won Silver in 4 x 100 mixed Relay. The Down’s Syndrome Swimming-GB team won the won the competition overall.

All 4 swimmers train hard and attend swim camps throughout the year all over Great Britain, to train with the Down syndrome GB Team.
