Keys To Life
The Keys to Life is a new Scottish Government strategy that was launched in June 2013. It provides 50 recommendations to improve the quality of life for people with learning disabilities. The emphasis on this 10 year strategy is health. There are over 50 recommendations involving local authorities and other agencies.
The Keys to Life strategy was created after a two-year evaluation on what progress had been made from The Same As You strategy and what still needed to be achieved. People with learning disabilities and their carers participated in this process. From the evaluation findings, key themes were decided by a national Learning Disability Strategy group who developed the Keys to Life strategy.
