Face-face and Online Workshops for Families, Parents and Carers
Communication Skills Workshops
Our Communication Skills Workshops are an opportunity for parents and carers to learn about the communication and learning profile of your child with Down’s syndrome. We will talk you through lots of strategies to support your child’s communication at specific ages and stages. There will be the opportunity to ask questions as well as discuss and share experiences with other parents and carers. These are split into three age categories to allow you to select the one suited to your child’s age and stage: early years (0-5), Primary Years (5-12) and Secondary Years and beyond.
Makaton Workshops
Our Makaton topic workshops give parents, carers, and family members the opportunity to learn some new Makaton signs that they can use in everyday life. We have a selection of six topic workshops that can be booked by groups of families. These workshops are delivered on Zoom. Please contact katy@dsscotland.org.uk with any queries or to book a topic workshop.
