Mark McDougall- Day 6

Date: 17th April 2016

Greetings from Rowardennan, again!

My hostel was midweek quiet last night, so I had the dorm room to myself and slept the better for that.

After seeing the electronic sign at the side of the A82 saying “Snow Forecast” the previous evening, I was relieved to see a fine dry day outside as I got on my way just after 7am.

My feet were a bit sore but soon settled down, although I was glad to have a wee seat just above Crianlarich after the exertions of the Ewich forest.

Coming down Glen Falloch, knowing I would soon see Loch Lomond, gave me a lift and I tramped on until I reached a wee boat slip a few yards north of Inversnaid. Here I took a break to enjoy the beautiful view and fuel up for the last leg.

There was a bit more cloud cover now and rain seemed imminent (it had to happen at some point!), but it stayed off through the final few (phew!) miles and only started as I reached the hostel at Rowardennan just after 3.30pm.

It didn’t last long, though, and I was able to sit outside in the evening sunshine to write my update and take in the stunning scenery.
