I am Me

Date: 8th December 2016

keep-safeI Am Me Scotland is a community charity that works in partnership with Police Scotland to raise awareness of and tackle disability hate crime. They are travelling around schools and disability groups with the Cinebus to raise awareness of Disability Hate Crime and to encourage people to report any incidents to the Police.
They also work in partnership with Police Scotland to create a network of Keep Safe places for anyone feeling lost, scared or vulnerable when out in the community. Keep Safe cards are available, which detail information about any health concerns, communication requirements or who to contact in the event of an emergency. Cards can be downloaded free from the I Am Me website. A new Keep Safe phone app has just been released and is free on iOS and Android. The Keep Safe Scotland App can help people to map out routes via Keep Safe places. There is also a link to Police Scotland online reporting and a link to each local authority across Scotland.
