Down’s Syndrome Scotland supports Russian artist’s work at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh

Date: 8th June 2015

Down’s Syndrome Scotland is delighted to be working alongside Russian photographer Vladimir Mishukov as he presents his exhibition Inseparable at St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh.

Running from Friday 26th June to Saturday 18th July, Mishukov’s work shows a range of stunning portraits of people with Down’s syndrome. As one of his children has Down’s syndrome, this is a subject very close to his heart and his work aims to show the different characters and personalities of the individuals in his photographs.

Mishukov says:

“When my child was born with Down’s syndrome, I was perfectly happy. At once I felt joy and absolute acceptance”

The photographs are presented in black and white and will look beautiful in the historic surroundings of St Mary’s Cathedral.

Down’s Syndrome Scotland staff will have information available at the exhibition and will be providing drop-in sessions during the run. Please check the website for updates soon and make sure you follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the most up to date information.
