Back to School Makaton Workshop for Families

We have missed seeing our families face to face and are excited to announce that we are holding a get together in August for a ‘Back to School Makaton Workshop’! We have space for 10 families* so please don’t be disappointed, book today!
Learn up to 20 Makaton signs to support your child returning to school after the long summer break. Sing some songs and take part in some structured activities together. We will also be offering this session on Zoom for those who cannot make it along in person, details of this will be shared at a later date.
How to book Email abc@dsscotland.org.uk places will be allocated on a first come first served basis once payment has been received to secure your booking.
Price £10 for Down’s Syndrome Scotland members.
£20 for non members.
Price includes photocopied handouts.

How to get there Strathaven is easily reached by car from the M74 (Glasgow area) and the A71(Ayrshire) as well as from North and South Lanarkshire and West Lothian. It is accessible by bus from East Kilbride and Hamilton. Strathaven Park is just across the road with plenty to do before or after the Makaton session – miniature railway, boating pond and putting!
Venue information There is ample parking behind the venue and a fully accessible toilet.

*We can accommodate one child with Down’s syndrome and one parent/ carer from each family up to 10 families maximum in the workshop venue in South Lanarkshire.
