Respite support for families of children with additional support needs

Family Fund and Time to Live have launched emergency respite support for families of children with additional support needs.
The purpose of these grants is to enable families to take a break or time-out for their regular domestic and caring role.
The Time to Live fund is delivered by one organisation in each local authority, you can find out who delivers the fund in your area and make your application to them here: https://www.sharedcarescotland.org.uk/fundingbreaks/funddirectory/
In light of the current situation, the Time to Live fund have been working to make sure a range of alternative short breaks can be accessed from home for example purchasing board games, subscriptions to movie channels, magazine subscriptions, gardening tools, PC gaming equipment, Kindle readers or tablets, online music tuition.
Family Fund manage the Take a Break fund which opens once a year, they are getting ready to launch their programme for 2020. The fund is due to open for applications on May 18th, with grants being distributed in June or early July. Before launching the funding Take a Break are looking at how the application processes and criteria can be flexible and responsive to the current situation.
