Mark McDougall- Day 5

Date: 15th April 2016

Hello from Tyndrum, again!

I was away from the very pleasant B&B I had been staying in by the back of 7am, with a kind donation to my challenge from the owner.

I hadn’t been looking forward to this part of the day at all – about 2 miles up a largely “1st gear in a Land Rover” steep, loose stone surfaced track, then a further 3 miles or so of mostly ascent to get to the top of the Devil’s Staircase.Mark McDougal 4

I was pleased to find it a bit easier than I had been expecting, and just less than 2 hours after leaving I was at the top and able to stop for a wee break and a photo.

I stopped more frequently on the rest of the journey, and whilst it was hard going on my feet there at least were not any further tough climbs.

I was back in Tyndrum by about 4.40pm, but my slower pace was only to be expected at this stage in the week!
