Training Courses

Our Family Support Service Team offers a variety of training for teaching, non-teaching and play staff to ensure that additional support needs of children and young people who have Down's syndrome are being met inclusively, appropriately and effectively.

We offer training days in Edinburgh and Glasgow once a year to ensure professionals and carers feel confident to meet the additional support needs of children and young poeple with Down's syndrome. Please watch this space for more information on future dates.

Alternatively, we can deliver training at professionals' and carers' establishments to a maximum of 20 staff.

Some training topics:

  • Possible health issues
  • Consideration of future care needs for adults with Down's syndrome
  • Supporting adults with Down's syndrome
  • Dementia

Bespoke training sessions

Under 2 hours £150

Minimum charge £150 + travel expenses

Half day N/A £300 + travel expenses
Half day Adult trainer with Down's syndrome and Family Support Staff £325 + travel expenses
