Become a member of Down's Syndrome Scotland

Click on the links below to download the relevant form. These can also be used for renewals.

By becoming a member you will be sent our bi-annual magazine every spring and autumn for every year that you maintain your membership. The Full Potential magazine features articles on family, health, fitness, education, research, news, readers' experiences, events and much more! As a member you will also receive reduced rates to attend our events including our annual conference, which provides an opportunity for people with Down's syndrome, their families and professionals to network with each other as well as attend workshops led by various professionals in the field.

Our 2011 conference titled "Past, Present and Future" was held on Saturday 19 November in Cumbernauld and included workshops on: power of attorney and guardianship, self-directed support, supported employment, speech and language development, dementia, understanding behaviour, research and music. We are currently planning for this year's conference and will contact all members in due course.

To become a member and to start receiving our magazine please post your completed form to Down's Syndrome Scotland, 158-160 Balgreen Road, Edinburgh, EH11 3AU. At this time we only accept completed membership forms in person or through the post.

Existing members - new information!

The membership year runs from 1st May to 30th April and renewals will take place during May and June, regardless of what time of year you joined. If by 30th June you haven't reneweed your membership, it will be considered to have lapsed and you will no longer receive our magazine and other mailings from us. In order to ensure that you keep receiving these valuable mailings, please ensure that your renewal form is returned to us as soon as possible.

Members who pay by standing order

We are grateful to members who pay by standing order. Members who pay by standing order will no longer need to complete a form every year; their membership will automatically renew. We will periodically write to these members, in order to ensure that the details we hold on record are correct.

Life members

Adults with Down's syndrome aged 16+ will become life members once they post their membership form. They will not hve to complete a form every year. We will periodically write to these members, in order to ensure that the details we hold on record are correct.
