Early days

A baby with Down's syndrome is first and foremost a baby.

Parents often find that soon after the birth they begin to forget about the label of Down's syndrome and see their baby as an individual.

" In the first days I couldn't see past the Down's syndrome, then one day she smiled at me and pulled such a range of faces that I was mesmerised and realised just what a beautiful wee baby she really was". Baby Fraser

As your baby begins to grow and develop there are lots of ways to help them achieve their milestones, however each child will progress at their own pace.

" I always expected that Rachel would eventually acheive the things that my other child had, even if it took her much longer and she needed more help."
