Take Note Advocacy Service

The 2009 update of the Education (Additional Support for Learning Act) (Scotland) 2004 Act introduced a new duty for the Scottish Government to provide an advocacy service to parents and young people. This followed after a reference was made to the Additional Support Needs Tribunal for Scotland. The Scottish Child Law Centre and Barnardo's Scotland partnered to provide the service, Take Note National Advocacy Service for Additional Support Needs.

The service aims to:

  • advocated on behalf of parents and their children with additional needs
  • empower young people and parents to fully participate in the process of making a reference to the Additional Support Needs Tribunal for Scotland

For enquiries or to make a referral please visit The Scottish Child Law Centre web site, call their advice line on 0131 667 6333 or e-mail.
